The Margaret and Herman Sokol Institute for Pharmaceutical Life Sciences is actively engaged in collaborative research in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and computational sciences. There is expertise in central nervous system, cancer, anti-infectives, and anti-parasitic diseases. Research is also underway in bioanalytical chemistry, polymer drug delivery and biomaterials. Institute faculty are funded in these projects by NIH, NSF and other agencies. Institute faculty have an extensive network of external collaborators in both industry and academia and in this collaborative environment train the next generation of scientists and provide expertise to advance biomedical research.
