Dr. Edina Renfro-Michel is an associate professor of counseling in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Services. Her doctorate in Counselor Education with a minor in School Psychology was earned from Mississippi State University. At the University of New Orleans she earned a Master's in Education in Human Services Counseling and a Bachelor's of Education in Elementary Education and Early Childhood.

Dr. Renfro-Michel has teaching experience at the University, Community College, and K-12 levels. Her counseling specialty areas are: attachment, supervision, sexual abuse, reducing conflict in residence halls, integrating technology into pedagogy, the effectiveness of hybrid classes and infusing technology into coursework. She was a co-PI for the NSF funded iSECURE grant. Dr. Renfro-Michel is also co-editor of the book "Using Technology to Enhance Clinical Supervision" published by the American Counseling Association.

Research interests

Attachment, supervision, sexual abuse, reducing conflict in residence halls, integrating technology into pedagogy, the effectiveness of hybrid classes and infusing technology into coursework.
