Dr. Yingying (Jennifer) Yang, Assistant Professor, received a PhD in developmental/cognitive psychology from the University of Alabama. Her research interests include a variety of cognitive development phenomena (such as attention, learning, memory, and problem solving with a focus in spatial processes) in typical and atypical development (such as people with intellectual or developmental disabilities). She teaches courses in statistics, research methods and developmental psychology. Dr. Yang has also been successful in attracting external funding and has published in journals such as Journal of Experimental Child Psychology and Research in Developmental Disabilities.
Research interests
Variety of cognitive development phenomena (such as attention, learning, memory, and problem solving with a focus in spatial processes) in typical and atypical development (such as people with intellectual or developmental disabilities).
Scholarly Interests
Cognitive Development in typically developing and atypically developing children and adults including people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Individual difference (e.g, gender, age, ability) in spatial cognition and visual search.
Teaching
Statistics, research methods and developmental psychology.
