Dr. Li-Chun Lin is an Associate Professor in the Hospitality and Tourism Department. She joined MSU in 2002 and has been the leading faculty member of developing the Hospitality Management Program at MSU. Before joining MSU, she was a full-time faculty member at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Lin worked in all facets of the hospitality industry including both management and line positions in the field of hotel, restaurant, and theme park.
Her research interests include hotel room revenue strategy, tourism/gaming impact, tourist behaviors, tourism destination image and marketing, Internet and technology application, hospitality education and student learning. Her research work has been published in the following journals and books: Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Hospitality & Leisure Marketing, Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education,The Consortium Journal of Hospitality and Tourism, Legalized Casino Gaming in the United States: The Economic and Social Impact, and Encyclopedia of Data Warehousing and Mining (2nd ed.).
Dr. Lin is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), which is highly recognized by the hospitality industry and academia. She is one of the pioneer faculty members developing and delivering hybrid courses at MSU. Dr. Lin teaches a number of courses in the fields of Hospitality and Management including Hospitality Management, Hospitality Internship, Lodging Management, and Management Process.
Dr. Lin received a PhD from Kansas State University (Department of Hospitality Management and Dietetics), an MS from Purdue University (Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management) and a BS from National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan (Department of Statistics).
