Dr. Wendy Zeitlin received her BS in financial management from The University of Maryland at College Park, her MSW from Yeshiva University, and her PhD in social welfare from Yeshiva University. Dr. Zeitlin teaches classes in research methods, diversity and oppression, contemporary social issues in child advocacy, and child abuse and neglect in both the Child Advocacy and Policy program and the MSW programs.

Dr. Zeitlin's research focuses on child well-being with an emphasis on disabilities. Since 2017, she has conducted community-based research exploring how parents with intellectual disabilities fare in child welfare systems. As a result of this research, she has authored several mixed-methods and quantitative studies published in top-tier journals. Additionally, her work has been presented at national and international conferences.

As part of her focus on child well-being, Dr. Zeitlin has been working with the New Jersey Department of Health to study recommended follow-up from the state's Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program (EHDI). The goal of this research is to identify factors and design strategies to help parents adhere to best practices related to congenital hearing loss in infants. This research has been published and presented in top-tier journals and at national conferences.

Dr. Zeitlin served as an evaluator on the New York State Social Work Education Consortium from 2007 to 2015 and the Child Welfare Workforce Initiative, funded through the U.S. Children’s Bureau from 2008 to 2015. She continues her child welfare workforce studies in conjunction with the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI). As a result of this research, she has authored and co-authored several mixed-methods, qualitative and quantitative research articles regarding workforce issues in child welfare and evidence-based practice.

Dr. Zeitlin in the author of three books on statistics, research methods and program evaluations, published by Oxford University Press. SSD for R: An R Package for Analyzing Single Subject Data is related to practice-based research with the most recent edition being published in 2021. Her first-authored book, Basic Statistics for the Behavioral and Social Sciences Using R was published in 2019. Making Your Case: Using R for Program Evaluation, was published in 2015.
