Abstract

The effectiveness of a methodology/technique greatly depends upon its intended application. The framework of selection and evaluation of methodologies and techniques for the target application is constructed using mathematical models. A prototype system, PHASE0, based on this framework, is constructed by using the weight metric as kernel knowledge representation. Domain-independent application features are reported, as are the inherent relationships between methodologies and techniques.
