Abstract

There is a high demand for controllers in industry. The design of these controllers has been always a challenge for engineers and manufacturers. The advent of new soft computing, and artificial intelligence methods have made the design of control systems much easier than the conventional control systems. Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS) have been one of the very useful methods for control systems. In this paper, we elaborate the use of Fuzzy Controllers (FC) by designing a Heat Flow Controller (HFC). We employ an HFC system to regulate the temperature inside an industrial oven which can be used for aging or curing. To be able to adjust the temperature, we use a switch that allows hot air to circulate inside the industrial oven. We design and implement the proposed controller system in MATLAB. At the end of the study, the designed HFC is tested and two different scenarios for the inputs are studied.
