An investigation into the perceptions of guidance counselors, high school students and parents regarding service-sector careers

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The study investigated the opinions of parents, guidance counselors, and high school students toward selected service-sector careers, including the hospitality, recreation, and tourism industries, and enabled us to draw comparisons regarding careers in these industries in comparison to other careers, such as being a doctor or lawyer. In addition to exploring the career fields themselves, other reasons for career selection such as parental influence were investigated.
