The prevalence of eating disorders is on the rise, and many treatment modalities are being developed and investigated to demonstrate their efficacy. One form of treatment for anorexia nervosa that continues to be developed is family therapy. In the following article, anorexia nervosa and its prevalence are defined, theories of its development are discussed, and family therapy interventions that have been applied to the treatment of the disorder are outlined.
