Abstract

The authors regret that a mistake occured in the text on page 3 paragraph 3.6. ‘Multilocus sequence typing’ in line 6. It should read ‘ST 55 is part of clonal complex (CC) 1 that contains mainly A. phagocytophilum strains from humans, dogs and horses (Huhn et al., 2014)’ instead of ‘ST 55 is part of clonal complex (CC) 5 that contains mainly A. phagocytophilum strains from humans, dogs and horses (Huhn et al., 2014)’. Further, Table 3 contained several wrong CC, ST and atpA allele numbers. The revised table is provided below. The corrected numbers are marked in bold. Table 3. Identity to GenBank accession number, ankA cluster, clonal complex (CC), sequence type (ST) and allele numbers in the animals analyzed. [Table presented] NT = nontypeable. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
