Abstract
The research focused on legislative advocacy for counselors-in-training (CITs), exploring the experiences of 14 participants engaged in state-level advocacy. Using a directed content analysis, the study identified four major categories: advocacy catalysts, advocacy action, advocacy training, and advocacy growth. These findings extend the Three-Tiered Legislative Professional Advocacy Model. The study underscores the importance of developing advocacy skills in CITs to sustain legislative advocacy in counseling and provides recommendations and areas for future research.
