Abstract
Limited research exists on leadership and burnout for counselor educators. Regression analyses explored the relationship between counselor educators’ leadership experience and competence and burnout using the Principles and Practices of Leadership Excellence Scale and the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory. In this pilot study of 81 counselor educators, the researchers found the leadership subscales, gender, faculty rank, and teaching load to be significant predictors of burnout. Implications for research and training are discussed.
