Abstract

This research study presents a successful endeavor in implementing a conventional (typical) five dimensional (5D) lattice finite impulse response (FIR) structured digital filter in a multidimensional (nD) framework. The circuit implementation of the FIR filter reported in this study utilizes a minimal number of delay–units. Furthermore, it should be noted that the derived state–space realization of the 5D FIR lattice filter exhibits a state vector of minimal size. In this study, we present a first–order 5D example and compare it with the four–dimensional (4D) realization. The purpose of this comparison is to demonstrate the accuracy and validity of the newly implemented approach.
