Abstract
We have studied the complex optical conductivity of Ba2YCu3O6+x crystals for 0<x<1. The absorption that appears as x increases can be divided into a peak at zero frequency and a broad infrared band. We present results showing that the infrared absorption scales with increasing Tc in two related respects: 1) its spectral weight increases, and 2) it shifts to lower frequency.
