Abstract
The Institute for Research on Youth Thriving and Evaluation (RYTE) at Montclair State University, takes a cutting-edge evaluation approach to the study of character development programs. The RYTE Institute uses a relational developmental systems science approach to research and evaluation to promote youth thriving, reducing the practitioner/researcher divide by promoting partnerships and equally valuing researcher and practitioner knowledge. We infuse our projects as well as our methodology with the theme of social justice, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. We are committed to training the next generation of like-minded researchers, as well as promoting capacity building in every evaluation partnership. Our research projects include collaborations with researchers and practitioners from across the United States and around the globe. Our applied research focus makes a difference in the academy and in the “real world” too.
