N2 - In this paper the problem of the minimal circuit and state space realization for two-dimensional systems that can be expanded into B-type continued fractions, is considered. The matrix vectors A, b, c’, having minimal dimension, and the scalar d of the Givone-Roesser state space model are derived. In addition, the corresponding circuit implementation of the system, with minimum number of delay elements, is given.
